1. What Gripex Max is and what it is used for
Gripex Max is a multicomponent medicinal product with three active ingredients: paracetamol, pseudoephedrine and dextromethorphan. Paracetamol has antipyretic and analgesic effects, dextromethorphan has an antitussive effect, and ephedrine restores nasal patency. Gripex Max is intended for the treatment of adults and children over 12 years of age. The product is indicated for the relief of symptoms of colds, flu and flu-like conditions (chills, inflammation of the nasal mucosa, dry cough, headache, dry throat, muscle and bone and joint pain).

2. What you need to know before you take Gripex Max
Do not take Gripex Max:
if you are allergic to paracetamol, pseudoephedrine, dextromethorphan or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6)
concomitantly with other medicinal products containing paracetamol
during treatment with MAO inhibitors or earlier than two weeks after discontinuation of MAO inhibitors
if you have a congenital deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase
if you have severe liver or kidney failure
if you have severe hypertension
if you have ischemic heart disease
in alcoholism
if you have bronchial asthma
if you have chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
if you have respiratory failure, respiratory depression during pregnancy and breastfeeding in children under 12 years of age
Warnings and precautions
This medicine can be addictive. Therefore, treatment should be of short duration

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Gripex Max. Taking the medicine by people with liver failure, as well as alcohol abusers and starving people, carries a risk of liver damage. The medicinal product should be used with caution in patients with renal insufficiency, arterial hypertension, cardiac arrhythmia, emphysema, increased intraocular pressure, prostate adenoma, hyperthyroidism, diabetes and in patients treated with anxiolytics, tricyclic antidepressants. hyperemia-reducing products), appetite suppressants and amphetamine-like psychostimulants.
The product should not be used in patients with chronic productive cough. The medicinal product should not be used in patients with respiratory failure, bronchial asthma and those at risk of respiratory failure.
Gripex Max should be used with caution in patients taking antithrombotic products.

If you are taking medicines, such as some antidepressants or antipsychotics, Gripex Max may interact with these medicines and you may experience changes in your mental state (eg agitation, hallucinations, coma), and other effects such as body temperature above 38 ° C, rapid heartbeat. activity, unstable blood pressure and increased reflexes, muscle rigidity, lack of coordination and / or gastrointestinal symptoms (eg nausea, vomiting, diarrhea).

If you experience redness of large areas of skin with fever and purulent blisters, stop taking Gripex Max and contact your doctor, or seek medical attention immediately. See section 4.

Sudden abdominal pain or rectal bleeding may occur with Gripex Max due to inflammation of the colon (ischemic colitis). If you develop these gastrointestinal symptoms, stop taking Gripex Max and contact your doctor, or seek medical attention immediately. See section 4.

There may be a reduction in blood flow to your optic nerve with Gripex Max. If you receive 

loss of vision, stop taking Gripex Max and contact your doctor or seek medical help immediately. See section 4.

Due to reported cases of dextromethorphan overdose, the drug should be given with caution to adolescents, young adults and patients who abuse drugs or psychotic substances.

Caution should be exercised in patients with delayed metabolism involving the CYP2D6 enzyme or using substances that reduce the activity of the CYP2D6 enzyme (listed in section "Other medicines and Gripex Max").

If you take more Gripex Max than you should, you may experience the following symptoms: nausea and vomiting, involuntary muscle contractions, agitation, confusion, drowsiness, disturbances in consciousness, involuntary and rapid eye movements, heart disorders (fast heart rate), incoordination , psychosis with visual hallucinations and hyperexcitability.
Other symptoms in case of severe overdose may be: coma, severe breathing problems and seizures.
Contact your doctor or hospital immediately if you experience any of the above symptoms.

Consult your doctor in case the symptoms worsen or do not disappear after 3 days.

3. How to take Gripex Max
Gripex Max is available without a prescription.
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist have told you.

The recommended dose is:

Adults: orally, 1 to 2 tablets 3-4 times a day. Do not take more than 8 tablets a day.

Children over 12 years of age: orally, 1 to 2 tablets 3 times a day. Do not take more than 6 tablets a day.

If you take more Gripex Max than you should
Contact your doctor or pharmacist immediately. Gripex Max contains three active substances. Manifestations of overdose may be due to the effects of one or all of the components.
Intentional or accidental overdose with the product may cause, several or more hours after ingestion, symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, profuse sweating, drowsiness, general weakness, anxiety and tremor, nystagmus, high blood pressure, seizures, dysuria and shortness of breath. These symptoms may disappear the next day, although liver failure develops, which later manifests as a feeling of rupture in the epigastrium, recurrence of nausea and jaundice. In the event of an overdose, medical attention should be sought immediately. Treatment should be performed in a hospital setting. It is expressed in accelerating the elimination of the ingredients of the product and maintaining vital functions. In case of paracetamol overdose, antidotes (N-acetyl cysteine ​​and / or methionine) may be required.


4. How to store Gripex Max
Store below 25 ° C.

Keep out of reach of children. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the pack. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month. Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines that you no longer use. These measures will help to protect the environment.
